Accessing the eSilo Cyber Protect Console
To get started recovering your data, you'll first need to login to the web console by going to console.esilo.com in your web browser.
Once there, you'll be prompted for your login credentials, for most users this will be your email address, however some users may have a username which is different from their email address.
If you are unsure of your username or need additional assistance logging in, send us an email at
support@esilo.com and we can provide assistance.
After logging in you'll proceed to the Cyber Protection console by clicking the button labelled "Cyber Protect".
Browsing Stored Backups
Immediately after logging in to the Cyber Protection console, you'll see a status overview screen. To view stored backups, click the "Devices" button on the left sidebar.
Then click "Google Workspace", if you only have Google Workspace backups and do not have backups for physical devices or other services, then this option may already be selected.
Depending on your backup settings you may see "Shared drives" and "Users" available, the recovery process is similar for both. Here we will see how to recover data for a user.
Select the "Users" or "Shared drives" option and then select a group of users or shared drives, or select "All Users" or "All Shared drives" if no custom groups have been created.
You will then see a list of users or shared drives.
Select the desired item from the list, then click "Recovery" on the right sidebar.
Users have separate backups for files in Google Drive and for email, these will show as separate backups in the list on the right. You can filter the list using the "Filter by content" option at the top.
Select the backup you wish to recover based on the time. You will select data to recover next.
Click "Recover"
If you need to recover all data, select to recover the entire mailbox or entire drive, useful for recovering a deleted user account or restoring an entire user account to a previous state, such as if the account was accessed maliciously and the data completely deleted.
If you need to recover specific files from Google Drive, select "Files/folders" on a Google Drive backup.
If you need to recover specific emails, contacts, or calendar events, select "Email messages" on a Gmail backup.
Recovering Data
The process for recovering any type of data is similar, here we will see how to recover an email message. When recovering a file from a Google Drive backup you will have the additional option to download the file directly via the Cyber Protect console without restoring the file to Google Drive, this option is not available for other data types such as email.
The left sidebar displays additional backup times you can recover from.
Here you can browse folders and select the specific item to be recovered. The folders are displayed on the left side and items contained in the folder on the right.
If you would like to recover an entire folder at once, select the "Recover folders" button.
Otherwise select an item to recover and then click "Show content" or "Recover" on the right.
You can view the item by click "Show content" or choose "Recover" to restore the item to Google Workspace.
Follow the prompts there to either recover the item to it's original location or recover to different folder.
If recovering to a different folder you can browse existing folders and you can create a new folder to by clicking the gear icon and selecting "New folder".
Then proceed to recover your item to the selected location.
